Allen D. Banta, 66 passed away onto his heavenly father this day of March 7, 2021. Allen was a 1974 graduate of Eminence High School and was employed 20 years with the Budd Company/Martinrea of Shelbyville, working tool and die after years of production. A charter member of 2383 UAW. Loved life and those around him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles. As well as his beloved beautiful daughter, Kimberly Bernice Banta and his mother, Emma Jerrine Chaney Banta.
He is survived by his companion: Dana McGaughey of Shelbyville; his father: Gilbert J. Banta; one son: Jerry A. Banta (Kathy) of Shively; one daughter: Jennifer “Jenny” Hope Banta (Brian) of Taylorsville; three stepchildren: Heather N. Cook (Tyler), Scott Mings, and Robert Mings all of Campbellsville; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; four brothers: William H. Banta (Edna) of Frankfort, Terry L. Banta (Valerie) of Newark, OH, Terry Scruggs and Jerry Scruggs, both of Shelbyville; two sisters: Maria Fugate (Greg) of Franklin County and Kathy Douglas (Lowell) of Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Not enough can be said about Dana as she was a God sent and a huge blessing in his life which he had planned to do so much more with.
Funeral services will be held at Eminence Baptist Church on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 6 p.m. Rev. Chris Blair and Rev. Michael Duncan will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of services on Thursday. Cremation will follow funeral services per his wishes.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Dickerson, Jakob Spencer, Bralen Spencer, Jonathan Garrison, Scott Banta and Bruce Hoagland.
