Barbara Sue Quire

Barbara Sue Perry Quire, age 76 of Lockport died April 4, 2021. She was born January 21, 1945 to the late Samuel Bryant Perry and Frances Mae McConnell Perry. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, farmer and homemaker.

Barbara is survived by three sons: Antonio James Quire of Pleasureville, Jesse Bryant Quire (Charlene) of Bedford and Lucas Wayne Quire (Lori) of Bedford; one daughter: Robin Sue Williams (James “Bud”) of Bald Knob; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and a special friend Lonnie Reed of Gratz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Quire.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Pastor Lowell Newsom will officiate. Visitation will be 4p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday. Interment will be in Defoe Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lucas Quire Jr., Tyson Quire, Wyatt Wagers and Bodie Wagers. Active Pallbearers will be John Williams, Lucas Quire, Charles Gaines, Jake Kelley, Bud Williams and Matthew Quire.

“She was a beautiful mother and grandmother. She loved her children and you always had a place to stay at Mama’s house. She lived life to the fullest. She loved to sing, fish, and loved flowers and gardening. She always had plenty of love for people. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and loved Jesus. Though her life was cut short she will always be in our hearts. I know she is in a better place. There was no one like Mama and she will be sadly missed.”
