Billy “B” H. Bohannon, age 77 of Elmburg, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Elmburg on December 23, 1943. He was a lifelong farmer and an employee of the United States Postal Service for 33 years. He enjoyed his work because of the many friendships he made, both with his coworkers and customers in the Pleasureville area. Billy was a devoted family man and a man of great moral character. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and a good friend to many. Billy attended Bagdad High School and was in the first graduating class of Shelby County High School, in 1961. He has remained close friends with many of his former classmates. He was born and died on the family farm that has been in the Bohannon family for over one-hundred years. He will be interred in the family cemetery, on the same farm.
He is survived by one son: Tim H. Bohannon (Cheryl) of Elmburg; one daughter: Tina B. Travis of Elmburg; his mother: Virginia K. Bohannon of Pleasureville; sister-in-law: Judy T. Bohannon of Bagdad; four grandchildren: Clay H. Bohannon (Christal), Chris Bohannon, Jessica Roberts (Tim) and Rachel Travis (Jeff); five great grandchildren: Abbi, Lacy, Areina, Timothy and Levi, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years Reva Smith Bohannon, his is father, Harold H. Bohannon and his brother, Johnny K. Bohannon.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 2, 2021 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Jesse Huggins and Rev. Brad Jennings will officiate. Burial will be at the Bohannon Family Cemetery in Elmburg. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until time of the service on Friday.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Ware, Jack Briley, Timothy Roberts and Levi Roberts. Active pallbearers will be Clay H. Bohannon, Chris Bohannon, Johnny Bohannon II, Brian Bohannon, Justin Ray and Tim Roberts.
