Catherine Stivers

Catherine Stivers, age 90 of Lockport, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Providence of New Castle. She was born September 30, 1926 in Lockport, and was the daughter of the late Pete and Mary Adams Moore. She was a homemaker and farmer and belonged to Lockport Baptist Church.

She is survived by one sister: Sylvia Stivers of Shelbyville; two sisters-in law: Alberta Stivers of Pleasureville, and Elizabeth Stivers Grammer of Frankfort; Caregivers: Rhonda Beverly and Owen Arnold, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband: Lester Gene “BB” Stivers; six brothers: Albert Moore, Raymond Moore, Obie Moore, Cecil Moore, Charlie Moore, and Sylivan Moore; three sisters: Beatrice Moore Arnold, Rosa Moore Lyons, and Lilian Moore Marbeck; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Services will be officiated by Rev. Paul Briscoe, pastor of Lockport Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, and from 10 a.m, until time of services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Owen “Tooter” Arnold, Jr., John Mark Clements, Fred Snider, Calvin Beverly, Billy Tackett, and Donnie Stivers.
