Donald H. Mcgowan

Donald H. McGowan, age 94 of Pleasureville, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Bethlehem, to the late William H. McGowan and Amy Linville Thomas McGowan on August 28, 1927. He worked as a mechanic for Payne Chevrolet in Owenton for many years, and upon retirement he continued to work as a self-employed mechanic until April of 2021. He was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his daughter: Dina G. McAlister of Eminence; one grandson: Cody Alexander McGowan (Mary) of Richmond; one sister: Marilyn Sewell of New Castle; one niece: Kathy Sewell (Rick) of Versailles; three nephews: Wayne Stivers (Debbie) of Jeffersontown, Kim McGowan (Sue) of Shelbyville and Gary McGowan (Edith) of Shelbyville and a very special friend, Margaret Cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Christine McGowan; two brothers: Paul McGowan and Lowell McGowan; and two sisters: Eileen Stivers and Doris Lynn McGowan.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Nathan Shaw will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until time of the service on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Gary McGowan, Kim McGowan, Wayne Stivers, Ricky Jones, Bill Smith and Ed Nelson.
