George Herman Goins, 64, a cherished resident of Smithfield, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his residence. Born on January 28, 1961, in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, George lived a life marked by hard work, deep connections with family and friends, and a passion for the simple joys of life.
A retired driver for Shelbyville Mixing Center, George was known for his reliability and dedication in his career. Beyond his professional commitments, he was a man whose heart lay in his hobbies and interests. George found delight in golf carting around the scenic Lake Jericho and cherished moments spent fishing. His skills extended to carpentry and handyman work, demonstrating both creativity and practicality in his endeavors.
George is survived by his loving family: one son, Geoffrey Clay (Morgan) of Frankfort, Kentucky; two sisters, Donna Kay Randall of Danville, Kentucky and Angie Cole of Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Jim Goins and Charlie Goins, both of Owensboro, Kentucky; and a granddaughter, Madison B. Goins of Frankfort, Kentucky. His ex-wife, Teresa Goins, also remains among those who hold his memory dear. George was preceded in death by his parents, William Goins and Wanda (Riley) Goins.
A memorial gathering to honor George's life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lake Jericho Camp Ground, located at 1317 Lake Access Road, Smithfield, Kentucky. This occasion will provide an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who brought joy to many.
George Herman Goins will be remembered not only for his contributions to his work and family but also for the warmth of his spirit and the laughter he shared with those around him.
