Judy DeLane (Thompson) Bohannon, 76, a beloved educator and devoted farmer, passed away on November 5, 2024, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Born on November 24,1947, to Walter Thompson and Anna Mae (Anderson) Thompson, in Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky, she led a life filled with love, service, and dedication to her community.

Judy's career spanned many years as a respected teacher at Shelby County High School, where she retired in 1999. She was a proud member of the Shelby County Retired Teachers Association as well as the Kentucky Education Association (K.E.A.) and the National Education Association (N.E.A.). Judy was also known for her involvement as an F.H.A. advisor and her participation in Young Farmers, impacting countless lives along the way.

Honored as a devoted mother and grandmother, Judy is survived by her two sons, Johnny Kesler (Kim) Bohannon II and Brian Thompson (Angela) Bohannon, both of Bagdad, Kentucky. She also leaves behind two daughters: Rene' Bohannon (Jack) Briley of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Lisa Bohannon (Drane) Stephens of Bagdad, Kentucky. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Katie (John) Telek, Taylor Lyon, Grant Lyon, Morgan Lyon, Kelsey Bohannon, Gabe Stephens and Faith (Tyler) Osborn, along with her cherished great-grandchildren, Anna DeLane Telek and Wren Stephens. Additionally, Judy is remembered by her niece, Tina Bohannon, her nephew, Timothy (Cheryl) Bohannon, her mother in law, Virginia Bohannon, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Johnny Kesler Bohannon, reflecting a deep commitment to family values that she instilled in her own children and grandchildren.

Visitation for Judy will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home, located at 5710 Castle Hwy, Pleasureville, KY. A funeral service will follow on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Brad Jennings. Burial will be in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Judy DeLane Bohannon will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit and the impact she made in the hearts of many will endure in the memories of family, friends, and students alike.
