Louis Sanford Maupin, age 65 of New Castle, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born March 29, 1950 in Bethlehem, and was the son of the late Johnny Lee and Lucille Downey Maupin. He was a farmer and a member of Eminence Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter: Sue Ann Yeary of New Castle; one brother: Floyd Gayle Maupin of Shelbyville; one sister: Patsy White of Charlestown, IN; one great-uncle: Gayle Downey of Lockport; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson: Seth Thomas Clark, and a half-brother, Bill Downey of Lockport. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of Eminence Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Monday, May 18, 2015.
