Marita Janice Mitchell

Marita Janice Mitchell, age 81, of New Castle, KY passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at New Castle Nursing and Rehabilitation.  She was born on September 21, 1942, in Cropper, KY, the daughter of the late Harold Mitchell and Louise (Perry) Mitchell. Marita was a member at Cropper Christian Church and loved to crochet, draw and color. 

She is survived by three aunts; Martha Mitchell, Nell Griffith, and Hazel Mitchell and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a sister; Connie E. Kinney and a nephew; David Kinney. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cropper Cemetery.
