Michael Gene Hughes, 74, of Pleasureville, KY, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 16, 2024, in Frankfort, KY. He was born on September 16, 1949, in Frankfort, KY, the son of the late Dallas Hughes and Rosa Belle Chisolm Hughes. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating his time to his family and personal hobbies.

He had a career with Ford Motor Company in Louisville, KY, where he ultimately retired from after several years of faithful service to the company.

His love for working on the farm was evident to all who knew him, as well as his passion for listening to country music and cherishing moments with his loved ones. He had also been a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Kentucky F & A.M.

Michael is survived by his children, Sherrial (William) Luckenbill of Carrollton, KY, Rosetta Hughes of Pontiac, IL, Bobby (Sheila) Hughes of Pendleton, KY, and Michael Brant Hughes of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by his sister La Noma Dailey of Frankfort, KY, brother Kenneth Thomas Hughes of Eminence, KY, along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Michael will be remembered not only for his service to his country but also for the kindness and love he shared with those around him. A Graveside Service will be held on February 22, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Pleasureville Cemetery in Pleasureville, KY, with Bro. Dan Taylor officiating. The service will be a time to honor and celebrate the life of Michael Gene Hughes.

Arrangement have been entrusted with the Sholar-Riley Funeral Home.
