Minnie Elizabeth (Heightchew) Eddins

Minnie Elizabeth Lenora (Heightchew) Eddins, known for dedication to both her work and family, passed away on March 28, 2024, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was born on September 26, 1942, in Gratz, Owen County, KY, to the late Leonard Heightchew and Ada (Rucker) Heightchew. Minnie was a Sunday School Teacher and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She led a fulfilling life, working for 20 years at the Kentucky Department of Transportation while also tending to her farm. Her passion for gardening was evident in the beautiful gardens she nurtured. In addition to this, Minnie found joy in painting pictures and furniture, as well as quilting and sewing.
 
She will forever be remembered by her surviving family: three daughters; Janet L. Jones of Crestwood, KY, Jennifer L. (Barry) Woods of Pleasureville, KY, and Judith L. (Chris) Shaw of Pleasureville, KY; one sister; Iona J. O'Banion of Owenton, KY; five grandchildren; Kristan Wright, Alex Shaw, Bradley Woods, Roy Jones, and Ryan Jones; and four great-grandchildren; Josephine Wright, Eleanor Wright, Ashton Shaw, and Easton Shaw. Minnie was preceded in death by her beloved spouse Roy Lee Eddins. She also reunites with her parents and her brother Norvin Glenn Heightchew.
 
The visitation will be held on April 3rd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home in Pleasureville, KY. The funeral service is scheduled for April 4th starting at 1:00 PM at the same location with burial in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Wright, Chris Shaw, Betty Eddins, Barry Woods, Betty Roberts, Joan Wylie and Donna Heightchew.

Active pallbearers will be Troy Heightchew, Mark Eddins, Glenn Allen Heightchew, Bobby Glenn Roberts, Stewart West, and Dennis West.

Minnie Elizabeth Lenora Eddins touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed but always cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
