Rex Allen Lyons, age 67 of Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Louisville on June 26, 1954. He was a partner and saw-mill operator for Cedarville Lumber Company in Bethlehem. The “Lyons” boys ran the company for many years side by side. He was a member of Lockport Church of Christ.
He is survived by his mother: Anna Margaret Downey Lyons of Bethlehem; two sons: Morris Allen Lyons (Sherry) of Finchville and Joshua Allen Payton of Bethlehem; one daughter: Beth Ann Kays (Gary) of Eminence; two brothers: Randall Lee Lyons and Jerre Marwedell Lyons, both of Bethlehem; and six grandchildren: Wesley Hardin, Erica Addington, Kailey Kays, Gary Allen Kays, Jr., Kendelle Kays and Elena Payton. He was preceded in death by his father: Samuel Marwedell Lyons.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Bro. Bill Stapleton of Lockport Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery. A memorial dinner will follow at Cropper Ruritan Club, 8471 Cropper Road, Pleasureville, Ky 40057.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. until time of the services on Thursday.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lyons, Danney Chisholm, Matthew Jackson, Andy Bumgardner, Josh Payton and Dean Clubb.
Active pallbearers will be Morris Lyons, Gary Kays, Gary Kays, Jr., Jeremy Lyons, Randall Lyons and Jerre Lyons.
