Richard Alan Hehl, 68, born to the late Robert Baker Hehl, Sr. and Audrey (Covington) Hehl on May 12, 1956, in La Grange, Oldham County, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Johns Creek, Fulton County, Georgia. His life was dedicated to service, faith, and the pursuit of knowledge, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
Richard was a devoted member who served at DeHaven Baptist Church in La Grange, Kentucky. He displayed unwavering commitment to his faith and community, influencing many lives through his teachings and leadership. His passion for outreach extended beyond the church, as he also engaged in prison ministry in Arizona, bringing hope and support to those in difficult circumstances. Alongside his spiritual endeavors, Richard had a successful career as a project manager in computer technology, showcasing his versatility and capability in both ministry and the technical field.
A proud graduate of Oldham County High School in 1974, he further pursued his passion for divinity by earning a degree from Arizona Bible College. Education was a cornerstone of Richard's life, as he also had a business marketing degree. He valued learning as a means to expand his understanding of the world and to give back to his community.
He is survived by his brother, Robert "Bob" Baker Hehl, Jr. and sister-in-law Marcie, who reside in Defoe, Kentucky. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his aunt, Margie Covington, of Louisville, Kentucky, and a host of cousins and friends who cherished his kind spirit and generous heart.
Richard's legacy is marked by his deep faith, compassionate outreach, and dedication to uplifting others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, particularly his family and friends, who will carry forward the values he instilled in them.
