Robert Lee "Robbie" Yount

Robert Lee “Robbie” Yount of Bethlehem, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the age of 85. Robert was born on August 2, 1939, on the family farm in the Point Pleasant community of Henry County. He was the fourth of five children born to Reuben William and Lillian Corinne (Kelly) Yount. After graduating from Pleasureville High School in 1957, he spent much of his working life as a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, and farmer. Caterpillar yellow and John Deere green were his favorite colors. A couple of his proud accomplishments were the excavation of Lake Jericho and being designated a Kentucky Colonel. His enthusiasm for antique tractors led him to be an active member of the Salt River Antique Tractor club. He was a man of faith, serving as a former deacon, elder and board chairman at Point Pleasant Christian Church. He was also a member of the Lockport Baptist Church, a lifelong learner with a passion for playing the guitar, especially embracing the sound of Bluegrass music. He married Katie Sue Brumagen on July 1, 1972, in New Castle. The following year they moved to their new home east of Bethlehem.

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Katie Sue Brumagen Yount; two daughters, Theressa Lynn (George) Clements and Robbin Lee (Rodney) Mashburn, both of rural Henry County, KY; one son, William Russell (Bonnie) Yount of Waterloo, WI; one brother, Leonard Yount of Pleasureville; two grandchildren, Jacklyn White and Anthony Mashburn; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Clements and Mary Yount; one brother, Sidney Yount; a son-in-law, Audie Mashburn; and a grandson-in-law, Joseph White.

The family invites friends to celebrate his life during visitation, which will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home in Pleasureville, KY.
