Shelia (Bennett) Stivers

Shelia (Bennett) Stivers, 71, born on July 4, 1953, in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky, to the late William Goble Bennett and Edna Lee (Nelson) Bennett Chapman, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at her residence in Pleasureville, Henry County, Kentucky. Sheila's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and a commitment to her community and family.

Throughout her career, Shelia served as an assembly worker at Martinrea Heavy Stamping in Shelbyville, KY, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability. Her contributions to the workplace were invaluable and reflect the industrious spirit she embodied throughout her life.

Beyond her professional life, Shelia was deeply involved in her community. She dedicated her time to volunteering at the Henry County Senior Center and the Henry County Food Bank, helping those in need. Sheila found joy in nurturing her garden, mowing her lawn, tackling crossword puzzles, and immersing herself in books—activities that brought her fulfillment and happiness.

Shelia is survived by her two sons, Nathaniel Lynn Stivers of Shelbyville, KY, and John Curtis (Cindy) Stivers of Smithfield, KY, and her beloved sister, Nannie Jordan of Elizabethtown, KY. She cherished her role as a grandmother, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of her two grandchildren, Austin Stivers and Aiden Stivers. Shelia's former husband, Ned Stivers of Franklinton, KY, also remembers her fondly.

Though Shelia's parents and six siblings—four sisters, Linda Bain, Donna Bennett, Ann Chisholm, and Connie Stivers, along with two brothers, Bobby Bennett and William Bennett, Jr.—have preceded her in death, their memories and influence undoubtedly shaped her life and the lives of those around her.

Shelia (Bennett) Stivers will be remembered for her loving nature, her willingness to lend a hand, and her vibrant spirit that touched everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire her family and community.
