Violet Rose Beverly Spear

Violet Rose Spear, born on October 24, 1948, in Lockport, Henry County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She was a beloved member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Violet had a fulfilling career, most recently working as a cashier for Wal-Mart, a role she cherished for its opportunity to interact with customers. Prior to this, she dedicated 28 years of her life to the Brunswick Company until its closure. Her work ethic and warm personality left a lasting impression on her colleagues and patrons alike.

Throughout her life, Violet found joy in her hobbies and interests, particularly in crocheting, cooking, and baking. These passions reflected her nurturing spirit and love for sharing with those around her. She was known for her delightful creations that brought comfort and warmth to family gatherings and community events.

Violet was a member of Eminence Baptist Church, and was a former member of the Lockport Baptist Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, providing her strength and a sense of belonging within her community.

She is survived by her brother, Wesley Beverly, of Turners Station, Kentucky. Violet is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Fredia Gilbert Beverly; her beloved husband, Donald Spear; and her brother, Rhonald Beverly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home, located at 5710 Castle Hwy, Pleasureville, KY 40057.  Burial will take place in the Pleasureville Cemetery.
